Labour leadership election: what’s next?

Thanks to those of you who have taken the time to register support for the Labour Party, and so be able to vote in the leadership election. The registration deadline has now passed, so what happens next?

In the next few days, you should receive information in the post telling you how you can vote. Either return the paper voting slip in the post, or use the special code in the letter to register your vote electronically.

The deadline to cast your vote is 12 noon on 10 September.

Once votes have been counted, the result will be announced at a special conference convened by the Labour Party on Saturday 12 September.

UNISON has nominated Jeremy Corbyn for leader and Angela Eagle for deputy leader. We believe these candidates best represent the union’s values and put public services and workers first.

We wish them well.

Don’t forget to vote!
