The branch is pleased to be able to inform members at West Sussex County Council who are on HAY, SMG4 and Agenda for Change grades that their annual pay award will be aligned to National Joint Council (NJC) pay awards for the pay years 2021-22 and 2022-23. This follows a request made by the UNISON branch to Becky Shaw, the WSCC Chief Executive, which has since been agreed.
This means that when the NJC award is confirmed for 2021-22 it will be backdated to 1 July 2021 for West Sussex staff on HAY grades, and backdated to April 2021 for staff on SMG4 and Agenda for Change grades (as the different pay scales operate on different pay years).
