Palestine: workplace day of action and coach to London

The branch’s 3 recent cake and goods sales proved very popular again and it was wonderful to get out and meet members.

The cake sales raised £308.79 for Medical Aid for Palestinians. The goods sales raised £622.00 split across non-profit organisations including Bethleham Fairtrade, Women in Hebron, and Zaytoun. Thanks go to everyone who donated and purchased cakes and Palestinian goods.

Workplace day of action

UNISON is next supporting a designated workplace day of action for Palestine on Thursday 9th October. We will have a food stall from 11am-1pm in County Hall, Chichester. This will sell authentic Palestinian savoury pastries, made by local Palestinian home cooks. Please come and visit our stall in the main reception area of County Hall.

Demonstration for Palestine

The branch has also booked a coach to attend the next central London demonstration for Palestine, on Saturday 11th October. This assembles in central London at 12 noon. We will have the branch banner, and will issue a meeting point soon, if you are intending to be there but travelling up independently.

If you would like to travel with branch members, we have hired a 49-seat coach to take branch members to London on Saturday 11th, picking up in Chichester and Worthing.

The first pick-up will be in Chichester at 8.15am at Avenue De Chartres (Westgate Bus Stop V), Chichester, PO19 1RP. It will then carry on to a Worthing Central Station pick-up (Railway Approach, Worthing, BN11 1UR), for an 11.30am central London arrival. Of course, after the march and speeches, we will return safely home.

To reserve your free place on the coach, please email us at office.unison@westsussex.gov.uk with your name, mobile number and preferred pick-up point. You are welcome to bring friends and family.
