Grant successes for local members

UNISON West Sussex members have successfully bid for a range of grants either to help reach learning targets, achieve Open University qualifications or support them when times are tough.

Two teaching assistants were awarded £200 and £100 to help pay for courses on primary practice and becoming a higher-level teaching assistant. One of our members based in learning was also awarded £100 to help towards payment for a course focusing on issues around bereaved children.

Another member was awarded over £400 from the union’s welfare service ‘There for You’ to help with mortgage payments.

These grants – and others – are available to any UNISON member, subject to meeting relevant criteria. If you’re looking for contributions towards learning courses, find out if the union can contribute to your fees here: https://unisonwestsussex.org.uk/news/grants/

If you’re struggling to make ends meet, UNISON can help with one-off welfare grants through its ‘There for You’ service.  Find out more here: https://unisonwestsussex.org.uk/get-help/at-home/there-for-you/
