Locking out learning disabilities, locking in inequality

A coalition of carers, parents, service users and organisations that support disabled people has produced an excellent report on the value of day support services.

This has needed to be drafted as WSCC has proposed cuts of £2.2million to day services for people with learning disabilities in our county. These cuts were postponed by the council from April 2021 to April 2022 – but of course they are still imminent.

ITV Meridian covered the story as their lead item on their evening bulletin on 16 March:

Please read and share the report, which ably demonstrates the real value of these services and sets out a case for them to be protected.
