NJC pay – have your say by April 15th

The Branch is currently conducting a consultative ballot with its members on NJC pay. This primarily affects all members working for West Sussex County Council, including members in all schools (but not academies).

The Employers’ side has offered a meagre 1% for all staff on Grade 3 and above, with slightly higher increases for Grades 1 and 2 in order to keep ahead of the National Minimum Wage, which is fast catching up. This is not an acceptable offer as it does not go any way towards helping our members catch up with the 18% loss of the real value of their wages over the past 4 years, and it does not place sufficient value on the essential role local government workers play in our communities.

You should have received your ballot paper by now. Please remember to send your vote to the office before the deadline of 12pm on Tuesday 15th April.

If you have not received a ballot, please contact the office on 01243 777636 or by emailing office.unison@westsussex.gov.uk
