Branch Lines – Winter 2015 edition

We have also published the first of a new edition specifically aimed at our members in outsourced services, like Capita, Essex Cares and so on. Again, this will be distributed to relevant members by reps. Here is a link to the electronic (PDF) version:

Branch Lines, Outsourced services edition – Winter 2015

The main Branch Lines newsletter contains important information about the branch officer election process. Officers for 2015/16 have been nominated by your branch committee, and some vacancies remain. Photographs of all officers nominated are printed in the centre pages of the newsletter. If you are interested in any officer position, you need to have your nomination form back to the branch office by Friday 30 January.

Dates for this year’s annual general meetings are also confirmed in the newsletter. Make sure one of the dates is in your diary: 19, 23 or 24 March.

Other important issues we focus on in the new edition are:

  • the union’s response to the WSCC budget;
  • Pensions Board nominations;
  • ‘softer’ benefits of membership;
  • an introduction to independent research of the Capita/WSCC contract; and
  • new guidance supporting transgender employees.
