The Supporting Social Workers in 2021 Guide has been produced in collaboration between UNISON and Community Care and comes as a direct result of what members asked us for.

In a survey of UNISON social workers last year, members wanted more support for their mental health. As well as rising caseloads, they said new ways of working are impacting on them and the people they work with.
Employers have a clear responsibility to safeguard employees’ welfare at work. The Guide is produced as an additional support for our social worker members.
The Guide is exclusive to UNISON and is applicable to all social work settings. It contains practical tips and exercises, links to further resources and UNISON support, including how to get help from workplace UNISON representatives. Members can download the Guide and view it as a PDF, print it or save the link for any time they need it.
The Guide is designed for desktop or mobile/tablet reading. If viewing on a desktop, the quick tutorial is helpful in explaining how to view the contents in the clearest format.
