Labour leadership election: registration deadline

The deadline for registering as a supporter (not necessarily member) of the Labour Party – so you can vote in its leadership election – is fast approaching.

If you want to take part in this important democratic process, make sure you are registered by 12 noon this Wednesday, 12 August. You need to complete the form on the Labour Party website to do so.

UNISON has nominated its preferred candidates: Jeremy Corbyn for leader and Angela Eagle for deputy leader. We believe these candidates best represent the union’s values and put public services and workers first.

As the election process is based on a one-supporter, one-vote system, your vote is more important than ever. After the registration deadline, those who have registered as supporters will be sent information in the post giving you the choice of voting by postal or electronic ballot.

You have until 12 noon on Thursday 10 September to cast your vote.
